Biographical Comments
Art was a proud member of the Calgary Fire Department for 29 years and well respected by his fellow comrades, not only for his work performance, but for his sense of humour and ability to get along with all concerned. Off the job, Art's loves were fishing, hunting and playing rugby. In fact, Art was one of the longest standing Canadian rugby players in Alberta and an original founding member of the Calgary Rams Rugby Club in 1954. On their 25th anniversary, the Club honoured him with the initiation of an annual award, The Art Scotten Sportsmanship Award.
(Submitted by the Scotten Family for the 2012 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial)
