Biographical Comments
Maurice Lucien “Mo” Simonin joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1957 and retired as a Division Chief in 1994. He truly loved his job and was proud to serve as a fire fighter for thirty six and one half years. Mo passed on his integrity, moral standards and his wonderful sense of honor to all around him. He was an accomplished carpenter who enjoyed camping, salmon fishing, hiking, softball and especially after he retired, going to Arizona for the winter. Mo loved and was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He bravely battled his cancer with courage and dignity for six long years. Mo is dearly missed by his family and friends.
