Rob joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1971 and retired in time to celebrate the birth of our first grandchild in 2003. Rob's life as a decorated Fire Captain, a 20-plus year coach of hockey and baseball, a husband, father, grandfather and friend was celebrated July 24, 2011. He lived an honourable life without regrets and we are all stronger for having had him in our lives. The Derrheim family is very appreciative that he is being honoured at this year's IAFF Memorial. "Homer," we trust your race car is fast, may all your putts drop, and your rum and cokes be bottomless! We miss you.
