George began his career in 1958 and spent his first 15 years on the job serving the people of Prince George, British Columbia. In 1972, he moved his family to Kelowna and in 1976 he joined the Kelowna Fire Department where he spent the next 20 years in the service of others. George was posthumously awarded the British Columbia Fire Fighters Medal after succumbing to a brain tumor and is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
