John Wayne Adams?Retired Captain?March 6, 1970 - April 30, 1999

We are sad to announce the passing of John Wayne Adams, who passed away on March 12 2025.

Wayne passed away in Penticton BC. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Sharon, son Scott (Kerry), daughter Cheryl (Dennis), grandkids Ashley, Corey, Blair, Sam and Riley, great grandkids Liam and Sophie, and sisters Dawn and Jane. He will be deeply loved and missed.

Wayne was known for his hard training each shift. He had a natural ability for math and would hand write tests with loss of friction formulation for his crew to workout. He was levelheaded, would be straight to the point and tell you how it was.

Wayne served as Union President for many years and was known as the Captain that had the answers, or you could say “the go to captain”.

Wayne Adams had the privilege of being the very first Fire Captain to retire for Local 1304.
