Fire Fighter, Lieutenant, Captain.

Jim Maurer passed away after a brave battle with esophageal cancer in Lions Gate Hospital on Monday July 31, 2023. Jimmy was a dedicated Fire Fighter, Lieutenant, and Captain with the DNVFRS for just over 30 years, March 15, 1971 - April 30, 2001 leaving behind his wife, Lynn, and two sons, Coleton, and Brett. He played hockey right up until February of this year and walked all around Lynn Valley until his passing.

Jim did not want any recognition and there was no funeral. He asked that the fire fighters remember Lynn when they drive by his home in North Van with a honk and a wave.
