It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Joseph Bonanno, IAFF 13th District Local 3888 – Toronto, Ontario. Brother Bonanno, 75, passed away on June 4, 2025, after succumbing to occupational cancer.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 15, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St W, Toronto, Ontario M6P 2A5. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 3224 Dundas St W, Toronto, Ontario M6P 2A3.
Expressions of sympathy and condolences for the family and the Local can be sent to IAFF Local 3888, 14 Cosentino Dr., Scarborough, ON M1P 3A2.

Biographical Comments
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of retired City of York Firefighter Joseph Paul Francis Xaviar Bonanno, who succumbed to an occupational illness at the age of 75.
Joe began his career with the City of York Fire Department on August 30, 1971. He spent the majority of his service at Station 442 on A Platoon and retired from Toronto Fire Services Station 422 on May 31, 2007, after more than 35 years of dedicated service.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Joe’s family, friends, and former colleagues during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Brother Bonanno. We will take it from here.
