Biographical Comments
Completing his college diploma in photography, Gary continued taking courses at BCIT throughout his career.

He worked at the busiest firehalls in Vancouver while in suppression, served many years on the Union Executive Board and was also on the Critical Incidence Stress Debriefing team. He later became Captain of Buildings and Facilities.

He was well liked by his colleagues, and took an active interest in everything he did. He was thoughtful, considerate and good natured. He blessed others with his wonderful sense of humor.

Gary was a kind and caring man, who was well appreciated by those who knew him, and so very loved by his family and friends.
(Submitted by the Lanyon Family for the 2009 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial)
