Lieutenant Ken Gisby was born on October 7, 1938 in North Vancouver, B.C. He went to West Van High in West Vancouver. Ken was a volunteer with the Bowen Island Fire Department from 1963 to 1974. He joined the West Vancouver Fire Department on March 11, 1974. He was promoted to Lieutenant on December 15, 1990 He retired on August 29, 1997. He fought a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife Laurie and two son’s David and Ken JR.
