Biographical Comments
Randy was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandpa extraordinaire! His dedication to his family was an inspiration to all who knew him and he had many who were proud to call him their best friend. His easygoing nature, kindness and his selflessness made everyone feel accepted and valued. He was gifted with the most loving spirit.
As a Captain with the Surrey Fire Department for 32 years, he was known by the Department as a role model. His legacy lives on today as many fire fighters who respected his leadership style are carrying on in his footsteps. Randy’s leadership was exemplary both at the hall and on the fire ground. Randy also had a great sense of humor and loved a good practical joke. He could take one as well as he could dish one out but always had the attention and respect of his crew when the tone went off. In his last days, Randy tackled cancer just like he did everything in his life, full out with dignity and such bravery.
(Submitted by the Pitticco family for the 2016 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial)
