Pinole Fire Department and Contra Costa County Firefighters, Local 1230 are
saddened to announce the passing of retired Fire Captain Robert A. Ramos who died
of job-related cancer.
Brother Ramos began his 38-year fire service career in 1972 with the Pinole Fire
Department as a Reserve Firefighter and during this time he also worked 3 seasons as
a Firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service in Tahoe Ca. In 1979 he began his full time and
successful career with the Pinole Fire Department. Robert rose through the ranks,
which he served the remaining 20 years of his career as Fire Captain until his
retirement.
Brother Ramos was a valued member of the Pinole Fire Department and served his
community with honor and distinction. He is survived by his wife Laura.
