Biographical Comments
Captain Sid was a truly amazing man, he had such a passion for life. He was, as some would say, a character. He liked to play jokes and pranks on family, friends and, of course, co-workers. The brotherhood was his family, and he passionately loved his job- it was his number one priority. He was extremely proud to work for and be a part of the Strathcona County Emergency Services; he respected his position and the people he worked with. Dad loved to play ball, and played into his sixties. He also really enjoyed a good golf game with his buddies. His 1969 Monaco was his baby, and he loved to take it to car shows and show the Sheriff (as he called it) off. My dad was a very caring and compassionate man, and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He is deeply missed and would be completely blown away to be honored at this year’s Memorial. (Submitted by the Lowe family for the 2017 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial)
