Biographical Comments
Jon joined the Lethbridge Fire Department in September 1979. He moved up the ranks and became a Captain in March 2009. Jon loved being a fire fighter and really cared about his colleagues. He was a member of the fire department dive team. Jon had a wonderful work ethic. He never took a sick day in his first 30 years on the job. He did everything with excellence in his personal life and at work. Jon was a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, friend and co-worker, always looking out for others before himself. He was an encourager with a great sense of humor that he often used to diffuse tense situations with great success. This was reflected in the many lifelong friendships he had formed in and out of work. He loved to go camping in the mountains every chance he got. Jon was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.
