Biographical Comments
We are saddened to announce the passing of Billy Mott (June 18, 1957 - March 31, 2021). Billy was not only a member of Local 747, but served as Secretary/Treasurer for 14 years. He served the citizens of St Petersburg for over 30 years as a firefighter after starting as a volunteer firefighter in the Highpoint area of unincorporated Pinellas County.

Billy had a passion for the fire service and always knew his engine and service area like the back of his hand. That passion carried over to his union leadership, where he was always available for members and made sure to keep in touch with all of our retirees. He was also L747's unofficial historian and with his passing he takes with him a lot of first hand knowledge of our union dating back more than 40 years.

Billy will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
