Friday, October 3, 2003 It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report to you the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Douglas Henry Joseph Herbers of IAFF Local 237 - Lethbridge, Alberta. Brother Herbers died on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 of brain cancer. Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Corner Stone Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2825 32nd Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, (403) 381-7777. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 10:00 am at St. Basil's Catholic Church, 604 - 13 Street, North, Lethbridge, Alberta T1H 2S8.

Biographical Comments
Everyone who met Doug was touched by his desire to have fun and live life to the fullest. He enjoyed what each day had to offer and accept life’s ups and downs. Doug will forever be the “BIG GUY with the BIG HEART”. Doug will be forever remembered for his love of football, hockey, and riding motocross with his two brothers and of course playing cards. Family and friends will carry with them the countless memories of numerous golf vacations and cross boarder weekend getaways.
