It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Willis C. Barnes, IAFF 4th District Local 1568, Henrico County, Virginia. Brother Barnes, 57, passed away on June 30, 2022 after a battle with occupational cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Bliley's Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Virginia 23228; phone: (804) 523-8510

Biographical Comments
Lt. Willis "Buddy" Barnes succumbed to occupational cancer on June 29, 2022. Buddy worked for the County of Henrico, Division of Fire for 30 years, 3 months and 22 days. He retired on April 27, 2017. His station assignments for Henrico Fire included stations 1, 3, 11, 13, 15 and 21. He was an active retired member of the Henrico Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 1568.
