It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Steven Ambrozewicz, IAFF 4th District Local 1563, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Brother Ambrozewicz, 65, passed away on Aug. 19, 2026, from occupational cancer.



Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 24 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Department, 7549 Solley Road, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Jane Frances Church, 8491 Virginia Ave, Pasadena, Maryland. 21122.

With profound sadness, the Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 1563, announce the Line-of-Duty passing of Active-Retired Member Steven P. “Steve” Ambrozewicz, after a courageous battle with occupational cancer.

Steve was hired by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department on August 6, 1987, as a member of Recruit Class 24. He retired on October 1, 2020, after more than 33 years of dedicated service.

For more than 25 years, Steve proudly served IAFF Local 1563 as a Shop Steward. He was a steadfast advocate for our membership, always willing to dedicate his time to supporting any brother or sister in need.

The Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 1563, extend our deepest condolences to Steve’s family, friends, and our brothers and sisters during this incredibly difficult time.
