It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Captain Michael J. Barnes, IAFF 2nd District Local 73 – Saint Louis, Missouri. Brother Barnes, 64, passed away on June 19, 2024 after succumbing to occupational cancer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129; phone: (314) 894-8444. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 5020 Rhodes Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109; phone: (314) 351-1600.
