Summary
343 Fire Fighters were killed while operating at the terrorist attack in which two commercial airplanes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Both towers caught fire and totally collapsed, killing most of the emergency service personnel operating in the buildings.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Brent F. Carter, IAFF District 4 Local 3217, Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority. Brother Carter passed away on March 4, 2019 from throat cancer.
The visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on March 13, 2019 at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622; phone 301-472-4400.
The funeral will be held at the same location on March 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM.

Biographical Comments
Firefighter Brent Carter succumb to his illness on March 4th 2019 after a brave fight against cancer. Brent was a firefighter with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority for 20 years. On September 11, 2001 Brent was one of many responders in the initial response wave to the tragic events at the Pentagon. In the years following his retirement, Brent was diagnosed with cancer related to exposures on September 11th.
