It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Captain Gene Martin, IAFF 2nd District Local 2195 – Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Brother Martin, 55, passed away on June 14, 2024 from suicide related to a post-traumatic stress-related illness.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 SW M-150 Highway, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082; phone: (816) 537-6990. Funeral services and Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
