It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Marshall Michael B. Painter, IAFF 4th District Local 2924, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brother Painter, 60, suffered a medical emergency and passed away on June 24, 2021.

Visitation will be held on June 30, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451; phone: (757) 385-2000. A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 1, 2021 at the Convention Center at 1:00 pm.
