It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Driver/Engineer Eric T. Hayashi, IAFF 10th District Local 1463, Hawaiian Islands, HI. Brother Hayashi, 49, passed away on August 8, 2020 after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.

Fire Equipment Operator Eric T. Hayashi passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Hilo Medical Center. Brother Hayashi was on-duty, on an emergency call, when he experienced a critical medical emergency.

Brother Hayashi, age 49, joined the Hawaii Fire Department on December 18, 1995.

He is survived by mother, Aileen Hayashi; brother, Brandon Hayashi; girlfriend, Barian Buyuan; daughter, Tabitha Tomori.
