It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Firefighter/EMT David C. Wahlstrom, IAFF 3rd District Local 2810,
Wareham, Massachusetts. Brother Wahlstrom, 57, passed away on January 22, 2021 from brain cancer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham, Massachusetts 02571; phone: 508-295-0060. Graveside services will be private.

Biographical Comments
David started his firefighting career in 1979. He served four years in the Marine Corps. After his service he became a call firefighter with the Onset Fire District and a full time firefighter with the Otis ANG fire department. In 1998 David joined the Wareham Fire Department as a call firefighter being promoted to full time in 2003 and was assigned to group 4. On March 25, 2011 David, while on duty was part of a shift that was subjected to a harrowing building fire, in which there was a person trapped. His selfless actions in the successful rescue of the trapped individual, earned him the highest honor a firefighter can received in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. David received the Medal of Honor and Firefighter of the year recognition.
