It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Captain Stuart Campbell, IAFF 13th District Local 1582 –Oakville, Ontario. Brother Campbell, 56, passed away on Dec. 21, 2025 after succumbing to occupational cancer.



A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Operating Engineers Banquet Centre, 2245 Speers Rd, Oakville, Ontario L6L 2X9.

Biographical Comments
Stuart "Stu" Campbell was a devoted husband to Sandra and a loving father to his daughters, Lexi and Sierra. He proudly followed in the footsteps of his parents, including his father Peter, who served as Oakville’s Chief Fire Prevention Officer.

Stu served with dedication in the Oakville Fire Department, spending most of his career at the Bronte Fire Station and as a member of the Hazmat crew. On his days off, he trained others through Team 1, generously sharing his extensive Hazmat knowledge.

He is survived by his brother Scott (Betsy) and will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters in the Oakville Fire Department. Stu fought a courageous battle with metastatic thyroid cancer and will be remembered for his service, mentorship, and love for his family.
