It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Captain John Blackwell II, IAFF 14th District Local 632 – New Orleans, Louisiana. Brother Blackwell II, 53, passed away on Feb. 24, 2025 after succumbing to occupational cancer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 5, 2025 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Metairie Baptist Church, 401 Codifer Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana 70005. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.
