It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Lieutenant Donald J. Trout, IAFF 1st District Local 3451, Middlesex County, New Jersey. Brother Trout, 53, passed away on August 27, 2021, after suffering a medical emergency.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8 pm at Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861; phone (732) 826-4525. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 9:45 am at Good Shepherd Parish at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary RC Church, 625 Florida Grove Rd, Hopelawn, Woodbridge, NJ 08861; phone (732)-826-4859. Burial will be private.

president carlos l morales reports the line-of-duty death of lieutenant donald j. trout earlier this friday morning 08/27/2021 while responding to a call for service at about 0810am. lieutenant trout was with the unit since 2002 and previously served as the supervisor for “a” shift. recently, lieutenant trout was named as the unit’s training officer. lieutenant trout was a member of iaff local 3451- middlesex county firefighter’s association. he held several positions within the local including a term as president. he leave behind a wife and two children 9 year daughter and a 4 year old son.
