It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Andrew S. Cutting, IAFF 8th District Local 3033, Skokie, Illinois. Brother Cutting, 54, passed away on January 20, 2023, after succumbing to an occupational cancer.

Private visitation for family, friends and Skokie Fire family will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023.

The Funeral Service, with Fire Department Honors, will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2 p.m., at St. Peter Catholic Parish Chapel, 8140 Niles Center Road, Skokie, Illinois 60077.

Individuals wishing to participate in the service are asked to create a corridor along Niles Center Road starting at Haben Funeral Home (8057 Niles Center Road, Skokie, Illinois) and continuing north to St. Peter Catholic Parish Chapel (8144 Niles Center Road, Skokie, Illinois – Lower level of school). Individuals participating in the Honor Corridor are asked to assemble on both sides of Niles Center Road at 1:0 pm. The Walking Procession from Haben Funeral Home to St. Peter Catholic Parish Chapel will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. Skokie Fire Department Members are asked to be assembled closest to the St. Peter Catholic Parish Chapel with other uniformed personnel filling in behind. After the walking procession has passed, uniformed personnel are asked to join in behind the walking procession in preparation for the Firefighter Walk-Through.
