It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Driver/Operator Christopher Higgins, IAFF 4th District Local 1664 – Montgomery County, Maryland. Brother Higgins, 46, passed away on Jan. 11, 2025, after suffering a medical emergency.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, from 3-9 p.m. at McCully, Polynick & Collins Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122. The funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Light House Church, 6691 Baymeadow Drive #200, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060.

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service & IAFF Local 1664 announces the passing of Master Firefighter Christopher Higgins, a dedicated and heroic member of the department.
Master Firefighter Higgins, a veteran firefighter with 23 years of service, passed away on January 11, 2025 while bravely serving during an emergency response. His passing marks an immeasurable loss to the department, the community he served, and his loved ones.
Master Fire Fighter Higgins was not only an exceptional firefighter but also a mentor, leader, and friend to countless colleagues. Known for his unwavering commitment, bravery, and compassion, he embodied the very best qualities of our profession.
