It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Captain Matthew R. Chiaverotti, IAFF 4th District Local 2924, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brother Chiaverotti, 44, passed away on April 17, 2023, after succumbing to occupational cancer.

Visitation will take place on Sun., April 23, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at Virginia Beach Convention Center, 2nd floor, 1000 19th St, Virginia Beach, VA 23451; phone: (757) 385-2000.

The Funeral service will be held on Mon., April 24, 2023, at 1 p.m. also at the convention center. Uniform personnel to arrive at 11:45 a.m. Procession arrival 12:30-12:45 p.m.

• Dress: Class A uniform with hat and badge draped.
• Times:
• 11:45 Uniform Personnel arrive to form the Sea of Blue
• 12:30 – 12:45 Procession arrival at VBCC
• 13:00 Service starts

Celebration Gathering:
• Location: New Realm Brewing Company
• Dress: Civilian Attire
• Times: Immediately following the Funeral Service
• Details: This will be an informal gathering that provides us a time to relax together as a family and share our favorite Chevy stories.
