As his Captain, one of the things about Patrick that stood out the most was he attention to detail and the passion he had at work. He was the type of guy that treated the equipment we were issued as though it was his own. He spent many hours fixing and or replacing items to keep our apparatus in service and looking new. These were things that he didn’t have to do, we had mechanics, but he chose to do to save time and money!
Patrick and his fiancé Lacey were also very community minded. Our station started a yearly tradition where we would adopt families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They always helped, even after his diagnosis, he wasn’t always at the station, but they always gave back. They were also very active in the APAC- Temple, TX helping out fur babies.
Lastly, I think the thing I will carry with me the most, was his infectious smile. Every morning I could count on him to be there bright and early, smiling. He truly loved his job and helping others.

Captain Robert Sopko # 146

Patrick worked for me for about a third of his career. He had more heart than most people in our field. Starting as a volunteer he quickly became a triple threat Fire, EMS and Dispatch. He will forever be missed.
Ret. Captain Dennis Reed
