It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Firefighter/Paramedic Matthew M. Rominger, IAFF 16th District Local F-85, Federal Fire Fighters Association, Camp Pendleton, California. Brother Rominger, 48, passed away on May 16, 2021 from complications of Covid-19.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Destiny Christian Church, 6900 Destiny Drive, Rocklin, California 95677; phone: (916) 780-2273.

Biographical Comments

matthew was born july 28, 1972, and passed away may 16, 2021. he was a beloved father and husband who served the community selflessly from the age of 19. matthew began his career in public service as a firefighter with cdf. then in 1995, he joined the chp where he once again served with honor, countlessly putting himself in harms way for his fellow man. matt returned to his firefighting roots as a firefighter/paramedic for the department of defense. he served within dod for the last 16 yrs.
in addition to his public service, matthew was an amazing coach. he coached numerous teams for our four children. he is most well known coaching aau young women's basketball. his goal was to give each young woman the opportunity to build their skill set, to build their confidence and to get them scouted by a university. he worked tirelessly for the girls of sac sting.
lastly, my husband was a man of great faith who fervently practiced his orthodox christianity daily. my family and i take comfort from this fact because we know that he is with our lord.
