It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Matthew Forand, IAFF 3rd District Local 841 – New Bedford, Massachusetts. Brother Forand, 45, passed away on Aug. 15, 2024, after suffering a medical emergency.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745; phone: (508) 979-6498. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill, New Bedford, MA 02745; phone: (508) 995-3593.
