It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/Paramedic Chris Nelson, IAFF 10th District Local 3716, Selma, California. Brother Nelson, 55, passed away on Feb. 8, 2024, after suffering a medical emergency.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2024, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720; phone: (559) 227-4048. A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2441 Dockery Ave, Selma, CA 93662; phone: (559) 896-1052. A graveside service will follow immediately after the mass at Selma Cemetery District, 2430 Floral Ave, Selma, CA 93362.
