Biographical Comments
Engineer Lyle Crawford always wanted to be a firefighter. In fact, he wanted to be a firefighter so bad he served a four year stint in the United States Navy to give him five extra points on the entry exam thus improving his odds of becoming a San Antonio Firefighter.
While in the Navy, Lyle served on the flight deck of the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67).
Lyle had a magnetic personality and was incredibly easy going.
Lyle's priorities were well established and nothing came before family. He and his amazing wife, Jennifer, were blessed with three children; Kimber, Layna, and Colt.
Lyle had 15 years service with the San Antonio Fire Department and his loss is already felt throughout our ranks.
In Navy parlance be it said "fair winds and following seas," in our vernacular let us said "rest easy Brother, we have the watch and we'll take it from here."
