It is with profound sadness and heartache, that the Ithaca Fire Department family announces the passing of our friend and colleague, Firefighter Daryl Pace.
Daryl loved the fire service, helping the community and educating the youth. Being at the firehouse is where she belonged. She was active in all aspects of the job and always wanted to be where the action was. Her energy and charisma will surely be missed.
Daryl reluctantly retired only a few months ago, to spend more time with her family and to do everything she wanted, living life to its fullest. Her past few weeks have been spent with friends and family and she was a fighter until the very end.
Surrounded by the ones she loved, and in the thoughts of so many, many friends...she slipped away today...Gone but not forgotten...36 years of an amazing life.
Thank you, Firefighter Daryl Pace, and your family, for all you have done....
You are invincible now. No more pain. No more worry. We will take it from here.
