It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/Paramedic Phillip Broderick, IAFF 2nd District Local 4, Des Moines, Iowa. Brother Broderick, 51, passed away on Jan. 14, 2024 after succumbing to occupational cancer.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266; phone: (515) 222-1520.

Biographical Comments
Phillip "Mike" Broderick was an Army Veteran, and a 16 year member of the Des Moines Fire Department. Mike leaves behind his wife Emily and daughters; Grace, Ireland, Piper, and Campbell. Mike was a shining example of what we should all strive to be- a loving husband, great father, outstanding leader, great friend, and the definition of a true hero. 11-14-72 to 1-14-24
