Biographical Comments
Dennis “Rodie” Rodeman, as his friends and fellow fire fighters knew him, was a distinguished Veteran, having served several tours overseas with the United States Marine Corps. He began his firefighting career as a volunteer with the Vermontville Fire Department until he joined the Lansing Fire Department as a full-time firefighter/EMT in 2007. Dennis had a great sense of humor, very often with a bite of sarcasm, but he could always make you smile or laugh. He was an incredibly passionate person. He gave all of himself to everything he did, whether in his service to his country, his community, his family, his friends, his Michigan Wolverines, or the love of his life, his wife Kate. His life and legacy carry on in the hearts and memories of everyone that knew and loved him.
(Submitted by the Rodeman family for the 2016 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial)
