It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Driver/Operator Keith Hernandez, IAFF District 10 Local 3747, Kings County, CA. Brother Hernandez, 30, passed away from cancer on February 23, 2019.

The visitation is private.

The funeral will take place at 11:00 AM on March 5, 2019 at Visalia First Assembly, 3737 S. Akers Street, Visalia, CA 93277.

Biographical Comments
With our deepest regret the Kings County Fire Department announces the line-of-duty death of Fire
Apparatus Engineer Keith Hernandez. Keith Hernandez, 30, passed away from Rhabdomyosarcoma on
February 23, 2019. Keith Hernandez was a five-year veteran with the Kings County Fire Department.

Keith Hernandez was born in Fresno, CA on June 13, 1988. He attended Clovis East High School and
graduated in 2006. Keith Hernandez worked for various honorable agencies in the fire service including Cal
Fire Sonoma Lake Napa Unit as a Seasonal Firefighter for five years, Fresno County Fire Protection District
as a Seasonal Paid Call Firefighter for one year, and Clovis Fire Department as an Explorer for three years.

Keith Hernandez was hired by Kings County Fire Department on June 24, 2013 as a Fire Apparatus Engineer
and proudly served the rural areas of our county for the past five years.
Keith Hernandez battled Rhabdomyosarcoma and succumbed to his illness in the early morning hours on
February 23, 2019 at Stanford Medical Center. Keith Hernandez was happily married to his wife, Crystal, and
they have two children in common, daughter Henley (4 years old) and son Harper (1 year old).
Keith is survived by his wife Crystal Hernandez, children Henley and Harper Hernandez, parents Anthony
and Patricia Hernandez, brothers Anthony and Timothy Hernandez, sister Alyssa Hernandez, and parent inlaws Hector and Molly De La Cruz.

Keith Hernandez was proud to be a firefighter and loved his career. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and colleagues alike
