It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Jonathan Van Oeffelen, IAFF 10th District Local 1014, Los Angeles County, California. Brother Van Oeffelen, 43, passed away on March 24, 2024 from suicide related to a post-traumatic stress-related illness.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at Cottonwood Church, 4505 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720; phone: (714) 947-5300.

Fire Fighter Jonathan Van Oeffelen passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 43. Fire Fighter Van Oeffelen served our department, residents and communities for nearly 20 years. He is survived by his wife and four sons.
