It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Firefighter/Paramedic Andrew Valenta, IAFF 10th District Local 4107, Vista, California. Brother Valenta, 33, passed away on April 25, 2021 from brain cancer.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Moonlight Amphitheatre, 1250 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista, California 92084; phone: (760) 724-2110.

Biographical Comments
on january 8th, firefighter paramedic, andrew valenta learned that he had stage 4 metastatic melanoma cancer. like a true hero, andy dug in and prepared to fight the cancer that had already begun aggressively spreading throughout his body and brain. unfortunately, on april 25th, 2021, surrounded by family and those he loved, one of the most highly respected firefighters in the vista fire department lost his battle with occupational cancer.
andy was a boisterous member of the vista fire fighters association, iaff local 4107, touching the lives of those around him with his infectious smile, positivity, and compassion. he was a mentor to many, and a friend to all. he will me missed immensely.
andy leaves behind his wife caylie. and daughters lily (4) and gracie (2).
