Biographical Comments
On December 28, 2021 Gino suddenly experienced neurological deficits while on duty at the Ridgefield Firehouse. Members on duty rendered aid and transported him to the Danbury Hospital where a CT Scan and MRI revealed what would later be diagnosed as a cancerous brain tumor. For the number 18 months Gino battled this tumor with multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and two surgeries. On June 30th, 2023 Gino passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Gino was, without a doubt, a “fireman’s fireman” who never once hesitated to carry out his duties professionally and faithfully to the Town of Ridgefield. His passing is a devastating loss to our union, our fire department, and our community.
