It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/EMT Robert J. Conklin, III, IAFF 16th District Local F-313 – Joint Base New Jersey Federal Fire Fighters. Brother Conklin, 38, passed away on Aug. 12, 2024 after succumbing to occupational cancer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Rt. 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857; phone#: (732) 607-9500. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. at Old Bridge Funeral Home.

It is with deepest sadness that IAFF 16th District, Local F-313, Joint Base New Jersey Federal Fire Fighters, announces the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Robert J. Conklin, III, from Occupational Cancer. Brother Conklin, age 39, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, Federal Fire Fighter, Paramedic, and Teacher, dedicating his life to helping others. Whether working as a Fire Fighter, riding the Medic truck, instructing EMS, or providing care for people in need, Rob's passion to help shone bright.
