It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter/EMT, Michael Altman

IAFF 8th District Local 2 Chicago, Illinois. Brother Altman, 32, was killed while fighting a structural fire on March 17, 2026.



Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel,

7740 S Western Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60620. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 27 at 10 a.m. at the same location.
